Terms of Service
The terms and conditions governing use of the Cameroon Timber Hub platform by buyers, suppliers, and exporters.
Last updated 27 August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Cameroon Timber Hub (the "Platform"), operated to connect international timber buyers with Cameroonian timber suppliers and exporters. By creating an account, submitting a listing, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.
1. What the Platform is
Cameroon Timber Hub is a marketplace and directory. We facilitate discovery, document review, and introductions between buyers and suppliers of timber and timber products.
- We are not a party to any sale, shipment, purchase order, or contract agreed between a buyer and a supplier
- We do not take title to, handle, inspect, or ship any goods listed on the Platform
- We do not process payments between buyers and suppliers; any payment terms are agreed directly between the parties
- Listings, prices, availability, and specifications are supplied by suppliers and are not independently verified by us unless explicitly stated
2. Eligibility and accounts
Who can register
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter binding agreements to register an account, whether as a buyer or as a supplier/exporter representative.
Account responsibilities
- You must provide accurate, current information when registering a company or buyer account, and keep it up to date
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and credentials, and for keeping your password confidential
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or misuse the Platform, with or without notice depending on severity
3. Verification badges
A verification badge indicates that our team has reviewed documents submitted by a supplier — such as business registration, export permits, and legality/compliance certificates — and found them consistent with the stated credentials at the time of review.
- A badge is not a guarantee, endorsement, or warranty of the supplier's products, financial standing, legal compliance, or future conduct
- A badge reflects a point-in-time review; documents can expire, and badges are revoked or lapse if not renewed
- Buyers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any transaction, verified badge or not
4. Listings, RFQs, and content
Suppliers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, product information, pricing, species claims, and uploaded documents. Buyers are responsible for the accuracy of information submitted in Requests for Quote (RFQs) and inquiries.
- We may remove, edit, or decline to publish listings or content we reasonably believe to be false, misleading, infringing, or in violation of applicable law
- We may route an RFQ to multiple matching suppliers at once; submitting an RFQ does not create an exclusive arrangement with any one supplier
- Content you submit (text, photos, documents) must be your own or used with permission, and must not infringe any third party's rights
5. No liability for transactions between users
Cameroon Timber Hub is not responsible for the performance of any agreement between a buyer and a supplier, including product quality, quantity, delivery timing, customs clearance, payment, or dispute resolution. Any transaction entered into between users is solely between those users, at their own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cameroon Timber Hub disclaims liability for any loss or damage arising from a transaction, communication, or dealing between users of the Platform.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for illegal timber trade, fraud, or to circumvent export/import regulations or sanctions
- Scrape, harvest, resell, or otherwise misuse Platform data without our prior written permission
- Impersonate another company, individual, or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Upload malicious code, attempt to disrupt the Platform, or bypass its security or access controls
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes another party's intellectual property
7. Intellectual property
The Platform's software, design, and branding are owned by Cameroon Timber Hub or its licensors. Content you submit (listings, documents, photos) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to display and use it on the Platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
8. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform for any account that breaches these Terms, poses a risk to other users, or on reasonable notice for any other reason.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.
