- Promoted species
Niové is a dense orange-red to dark red hardwood with a very fine texture and a distinctive waxy feel. It is durable and hard-wearing, and is used for flooring, turnery, joinery and decorative work. The natural oils can slow drying of finishes and interfere with gluing unless surfaces are prepared. Traded as a promoted lesser-known species.
