Ebiara is a reddish-brown hardwood marked with darker purple-red streaks that give sawn faces a striking striped appearance, hence the trade name red zebrawood. It is dense and moderately durable, working reasonably well despite interlocked grain. Used for flooring, joinery, furniture and decorative veneer.
