Tali

Erythrophleum ivorense

  • Primary hardwood
Tali is a very dense, very durable orange- to reddish-brown hardwood used wherever timber must survive ground contact, water or heavy traffic. It resists decay, termites and marine borers, which makes it a standard choice for hydraulic works, bridges, sleepers and heavy-duty decking. The wood is hard on tools and pre-boring is required for nails and screws. Sawdust from the genus is irritant, so extraction and masks are recommended.
