Sipo
Entandrophragma utile
- Primary hardwood
Sipo, traded as Utile, is a close relative of Sapele with a slightly coarser texture and a more uniform reddish-brown colour. The grain is interlocked but the stripe figure is broader and less pronounced than Sapele's. It is moderately durable, stable in service and machines well, making it a favourite for high-grade exterior joinery and panelled doors.
