Okan

Cylicodiscus gabunensis

  • Primary hardwood
Okan is an extremely dense and very durable yellow-brown to olive hardwood used in the heaviest construction applications. It withstands ground contact, water and abrasion, and is a common substitute for Azobé in hydraulic and civil works. It is difficult to dry without checking and very hard on cutting tools; all fixings must be pre-bored.
