Movingui

Distemonanthus benthamianus

  • Primary hardwood
Movingui is a lustrous yellow to yellow-brown hardwood, sometimes with an attractive mottled or wavy figure that earns it the name Nigerian satinwood. It is moderately durable and dimensionally stable, and it takes a high polish. Silica content in some logs blunts cutting edges, so carbide tooling is recommended. Used for joinery, flooring, furniture and decorative veneer.
