Moabi
Baillonella toxisperma
- Primary hardwood
Moabi is a fine-textured, durable pinkish- to reddish-brown hardwood from one of the largest trees of the Cameroonian forest. Its very even texture makes it excellent for precision joinery, sliced veneer and turned work, and it takes an exceptional finish. The tree is also a major source of food oil for forest communities, so supply is socially sensitive and increasingly tightly managed.
