Kotibe
Nesogordonia papaverifera
- Secondary hardwood
Kotibé, traded as Danta, is a tough reddish-brown hardwood with a fine texture and high resistance to shock and abrasion. It is a favoured timber for tool handles, sports goods, vehicle bodies and hard-wearing flooring. It works reasonably well but the interlocked grain tears if tooling is not sharp.
