Framire
Terminalia ivorensis
- Primary hardwood
Framiré, traded as Idigbo, is a light yellow-brown hardwood that is stable, easy to work and surprisingly durable for its weight. It is a long-standing joinery timber for windows, doors and interior trim. Yellow extractives can leach out and stain masonry or react with iron fixings in damp conditions, so stainless or galvanised fixings are preferred.
