Bilinga

Nauclea diderrichii

  • Primary hardwood
Bilinga, traded as Opepe, is a golden-yellow to orange-brown hardwood with high natural durability and good resistance to marine borers. It is a standard timber for harbour and hydraulic works, bridge components, sleepers and heavy exterior joinery. The interlocked grain gives a striped figure on quartered faces, and the wood is moderately hard to work.
